When we set out to make 운명의 왕: The Destined King, we knew we were doing something that was far more ambitious than anything we had done before. We were attempting to realize a Korean historical story ... in the Korean language ... in the Northeast corner of the United States. We must have been insane to try! But we did.
To prepare for this shoot, we underwent 3 months of pre-production which culminated in an ambitious shoot that took 2 hot weekends in July to complete.
This project was made possible because of an incredible team of actors, camera operators, makeup artists, and more! These talented people came from South Jersey, New York City, and Boston to help make this little film a reality.
Given a tight production schedule, we opted to shoot the film using a multi-cam setup; specifically on a Canon 7D and a Canon T3i DSLR. Since DSLR's have rather poor in-camera audio capabilities, we recorded audio separately using a boom mic, which then fed into a Zoom H6.
